About

About this field guide

A learning companion for medical students on the anesthesiology sub-internship at Los Angeles General Medical Center.

Stewardship

Program owner: Los Angeles General Medical Center, Department of Anesthesiology.

Clinical content reviewed with LA General anesthesiology attending and resident physicians · updated November 2026.

Where the teaching comes from

Adapted with permission from the Anesthesiology Sub-Internship Course by Saumya Shah, DO. Equipment photographs are from LA General’s ORs. Clinical references cite current guidelines and product labels on each page. External figures are openly licensed — see image credits.

Using the clinical content

Doses are typical adult ranges for learning — never orders. Your supervising anesthesiologist decides every drug, dose and plan, and current LA General policy comes first.

Share the guide: badge stickers

QR stickers sized for the back of an ID badge. Both scan straight to this site.

Two QR stickers shown to scale on the back of a credit-card-sized ID badge: a 2.75 by 1.1 inch strip and a 1.25 inch square, both linking to laguscanesthesia.org.

Badge strip · 2.75 × 1.1 in

QR, program name and web address. About 40% of the badge.

Mini square · 1.25 in

QR and web address only, for badges with little free space.

Print on matte vinyl at exactly these sizes. Gloss can glare under OR lights.

Corrections

Spot an error or an outdated location? Tell the rotation coordinator which page and item need updating. For anything clinical, your supervising team and current LA General policy come first.

Accessibility

Built to WCAG 2.2 AA: keyboard navigation, screen-reader labels, text alternatives for every photo and diagram, light and dark themes, reduced-motion support. Report barriers through the corrections route above.
